Mission Statement
Nighthawks Basketball focuses on developing a well-rounded athlete both on and off the court. We believe in the use of basketball situations to help build lifelong skills such as leadership, responsibility and hard work. Placing emphasis on fundamental skills while expanding their basketball knowledge, prepares them for a successful future in the sport.
Coaches
Josh Puzan
Coach Puzan graduated from SUNY ESF with a degree in aquatics and fisheries science where he helped start the first club basketball program, that in his senior year became a USCAA DII program. He since recieved his Masters degree in education from Niagara University and now teaches chemistry and physics at St. Mary's High School. He has coached basketball at the high school level for the the past 7 years.
Joe Schuey
Coach Schuey has played basketball his whole life. Him and his friends would play pickup games every chance they could. He played for five years in high school and four of these years he was named captain. Coach has four years of coaching experience, two years as head coach of a PAL team and two as an assistant of the Lew-Port JV team, one of which was an undefeated season. He is passionate about basketball and believes that a great coach cares about the impact of the game and how it makes a positive impact on their player's lives. Every day, he tries to be that coach.
