What are the Niagara Nighthawks teams?
Nighthawks is a competitive tournament basketball team for girls in grades 7-10. It is a higher level of play than "house leagues" or "rec. ball" that is commonly referred to as AAU basketball.
What is the travel season?
The travel season starts with practices in late February. Then, Tournaments start on weekends in March going through early August.
When are tryouts held?
Tryouts are held in early to mid February.
Where do the teams practice?
Team practices are held at Niagara University's Kiernan center usually 2-3 days a week.
Where do the teams play?
Most of the Nighthawk tournaments are in the Western NY area, with 2 or 3 tournaments requiring travel to Central NY or Pennsylvania.
How do I sign up to play?
Closer to tryout time there will be a registration link that can be found on the tryout page, but if you miss tryouts or have questions please email us!
What is the cost and what is included?
The average cost per player on one of our teams is typically around $500. This includes all practices, tournament entry fees, team gear, and a Nighthawks jersey that the player keeps.
